Why Germany (& the world) needs your talent
AI is improving at an unprecedented pace and with it grows the potential for catastrophic risk. Yet, as of date, only a tiny amount of people work full-time on making AI safe.
Therefore, we need you: if you have any background in computer science, maths, law, political science, psychology, economics, operations, program management, field-building or just a general interest in AI and its impact on the world, you are in a perfect position to do impactful work and change our future to the better.
The SAIGE Incubator Program equips you with the skills, foundational AI safety knowledge and community needed to make that happen.
You will work with one of our selected mentors on their project, join weekly interactive foundations sessions and benefit from a close and supportive community. We provide you with personal support, career advice and future opportunities to ensure that this incubator is only the start of your path to impactful AI Safety work.
What we offer you
Here are the details for the above three pillars that we offer:
We do not expect you to necessarily have prior knowledge of AI Safety. Based on the background of our accepted applicant pool, we will provide a tailored crash course designed to quickly bring newcomers up to speed on fundamental AI risks, progress, and prevention methods.
Experience a supportive, hands-on research environment. You will:
Work in a team of 1 to 5 fellow mentees on a project proposed by an expert mentor.
Commit 10-20 hours per week to your research project (find the exact range in the project description).
Meet weekly with your mentor, who will provide dedicated research guidance.
Choose from four core tracks: Technical AI Safety, AI Governance & Policy, Technical AI Governance, or Communications and Field-Building.
Have the option to extend your project for an additional 3 months after the core program ends.
Our Incubator is not just a research sprint; it is a launchpad for your career. We offer:
Research Skills Workshops: Dedicated sessions to help you navigate research bottlenecks, write reports, and hone your academic skills.
Global Speaker Series: Exclusive talks and Q&A sessions featuring vetted AI Safety and Governance researchers, field-builders, and communications specialists from around the world.
Networking & Community: A kick-off event to meet your cohort, access to the SAIGE Slack community, and connections to local AI safety groups in your city.

Timeline for the Spring 2026 Cohort
Applications open: March 2nd, 2026
Application deadline: March 22nd, 2026
Selection period: March 23rd - April 5th (3 weeks)
Intro course (AGI Strategy): April 6-19th, 2026 (intensive, 2 sessions/week)
Mentored projects begin: April 20th, 2026
Core incubator program ends: July 19th, 2026 (with optional extension of up to 3 additional months)
